the representations of the Managing Director it was decided

to reduce the claim to $5633.33 treating it as though the

original cost had been $6,500 only, which is the average cost of a batch of wagons recently supplied by the British Section to the Yueh Han Railway, and allowing for depreciation

accordingly.

The $5633.35 recovered from the Chinese

Section has been credited to Miscellaneous Receipts,

Condemned Stores in the Treasury accounts and to Capital Account in the Railway books and I request your sanction to write off the sum of $1051.27 being the difference between the value of the Wagon shown in the Railway books and the

actual refund received.
